Frau is just a little project that I, Leilani Hermiasih, have cooked up with my digital piano who I named Oskar. We are based in Yogyakarta, Indonesia, and would perform at gigs around Indonesia. I write songs inspired by simply anything that comes to mind. Musical influences are varied, from Regina Spektor, musicals by Andrew Lloyd Webber, to traditional Javanese and Sundanese gamelan pieces. Currently everything I’ve done is basically just piano-vocal, so if you aren’t really in the mood of being bored to death by my voice and piano-playing, I wouldn’t recommend Frau. If that is the case, you can probably listen to collaborations that Frau has done with Risky Summerbee and the Honeythief and Melancholic Bitch, two awesome bands from Yogyakarta as well. Whichever songs you decide to listen to, they are available to listen to on Frau’s SoundCloud profile.
I currently have assembled two albums, both available for download at YesNoWave.com. My work uses the Creative Commons BY-NC-SA license, so you are free to copy, distribute, transmit, remix it, as long as you attribute the work as mine, use it for non-commercial purposes, and if you do remix it, you must distribute your new creation (whatever format it is in) using the same license.
